About this Big L Type Beat
If you're listening right now you may think 'wtf' does this beat has to do with old school beats? Well, I have to say that everything on this beat is a sample, even the drums. The drums were a drumbreak I just found in the internet, which were separated, processed and mixed separately to get that old school and nineties sound I wanted. I'm sure that you've been teleported to the nineties and the HipHop Golden Era where Big L was almost the king out there, or at least for me he was one of the biggest references.
Lamont (which is where the L of Big L comes from) was a legend in the hiphop, he signed with Columbia and then founded a record label called Flamboyant, and honestly the best thing he did in my opinion, major labels are good for exposure, then they're mostly useless and a pain in the ass looking for a check. I'm used to play his song Put In On in loop still in 2018, it's one of the best representations of what old school and the nineties were once upon a time. Rest in peace Lamont.
