Piano Beats
Like them or not, but the piano is the most common instrument to make Hip Hop Beats and even Trap beats. I know that as producers we’ve used almost any instrument available to create our beats, but the first, the main and the most used instrument to make Hip Hop beats is the Piano, followed by the violins.
Piano beats are decided by velocity and reverb, not by the notes. The same chord voiced high with a short decay sits in front of a vocal, and played low with the sustain pedal pinned it turns a piano type beat trap arrangement heavier than any 808. The piano hip hop beat tradition is that choice repeated: keys take the melody, drums take the weight.
Piano type beats, dark piano trap and sad piano loops
What is here runs from a piano type beat instrumental, through the piano type beat no drums entries, to a dark piano trap type beat in a minor key with the tail drowned in reverb. The sad piano type beat and emotional piano type beat side holds the same idea longer, and a piano ballad type beat lets the drums arrive late and stay soft. A piano violin hip hop beat adds a second voice, while a piano rap beat takes the keys into sliding bass territory. The piano beats free come as tagged MP3s to write on. The Dr. Dre type beat side and a Beethoven type beat stretch what the instrument is allowed to do.
