Smooth Beats
If we talking about Smooth Beats then Drake’s the king. There’s no doubt about that, he’s and will be the artist that released more songs over smooth beats in the history of the Hip Hop. Here you’ll find a lot of beats that would be suitable for Drake and artists such as PARTYNEXTDOOR, Kid Cudi, Ne-Yo, etc…
Smooth beats are written for a delivery that never leaves second gear: singing close to the mic, one hand on the volume, no shouting anywhere on the record. The smooth rnb beats on this page are the soft rnb beat end of it, guitar or keys carrying the melody with a snare you barely register. A smooth trap type beat keeps that calm sitting under the 808s, and the smooth jazz type beat loops push the chords further out without ever losing the singer.
Smooth rap beats for Kid Cudi, Ne-Yo and Steve Lacy writers
Some voices sound better the flatter they deliver. Kid Cudi type beats suit a talk-singing where the melody stays close to speech, Ne-Yo type beats the cleaner phrasing that lands on the beat every time, and Steve Lacy type beats the loose close-mic take that keeps the mistakes in. Frank Ocean type beats and Ariana Grande type beats belong in the smooth guitar type beat corner. When the verse is written first and the singing comes later, smooth rap beats with a hummed hook are the safest pick, because a hum sits under a rap without competing with it.
